DESCRIPTION

LEARN TO LEAD:

For those who want to push their climbing abilities and goals even higher, learning to lead climb is a great way to access even more of the vertical world. Explore the fundamentals of lead climbing with the professional guides at Apex Mountain School. Our guides will teach you how to place and clip your own gear, as well as introduce you to the “sharp end” in assisted lead climbing scenarios with backup belays. A  guide and all technical climbing gear (rock climbing shoes, ropes, helmets, harnesses, etc.) are included.

LEARN TO ROCK CLIMB:

After an orientation, we’ll warm up on low angle climbing routes, developing fundamental skills before moving on to graduated techniques tailored to your interests and goals. We also provide an intermediate rock climbing course for those desiring to further their technical skills and knowledge.

ANCHORS, GEAR, AND TRAD:

Anchor building and evaluation are crucial components of rock climbing and are fundamental skills necessary for anyone who is looking to get out on the rock without the assistance of a guide. In this anchor building course, Apex Mountain School’s professional guides will teach you a diverse array of techniques for constructing secure anchors in a multitude of climbing scenarios including top roping, lead climbing, and multi-pitch climbing.
