Dear Valued Clients and Friends, 

The team at Apex Mountain School would like to thank you for your years of support, trust, and patronage. As a family run company, Apex’s guides have always strived to put client safety first, while also working to provide you with fulfilling outdoor educational experiences and private guided adventures. As we continue to respond to the needs surrounding coronavirus, COVID-19, this close attention to client safety and quality of experience remain at the heart of our mission. We continue to offer all courses and private outings in compliance with the most current Eagle County Public Health Order. Under advisement of Apex Mountain School’s medical director, our current guidelines include, but are not limited to: 

  • Require masks indoors when appropriate 
  • Recommend social distancing when appropriate 
  • Continued sanitization of business spaces 
  • Continuing to screen clients and employees for exposure and symptoms 

For those not yet able to participate in group recreational activities, more comfortable joining us from the comfort of their living room, or maybe just in need of a little more technical education before venturing out on their own, Apex Mountain School is excited to offer: 

  •  Remote trip planning for you and your adventure companions! Trip plans include extensive technical information, map, route, timing, and gear plans specific to your destination and activity, in addition to the insight only years of guiding experience can provide. 
  • How-to videos available online through our social media platforms on InstagramFacebook, and YouTube – follow us to stay tuned for these exciting updates! 
  • Gift cards are available to purchase now for a trip later and always make great birthday, graduation, or just getting back outside gifts.

Guide and Client Safety

Apex always strives to put client and guide safety first, while also working to provide fulfilling outdoor educational experiences and private guided adventures. To continue sharing the great outdoors with you, Apex Mountain School is operating under the advisement of our medical director for ALL trips, until further notice. Those guidelines are as follows: 

  • Gear cleaned as appropriate 
  • Social distancing encouraged indoors 
  • Face masks used indoors by both staff and clients when indicated 
  • Pre-trip screening for exposure and/or Covid symptoms 
  • Minimal gear exchanged between guides and clients 
  • Guides are encouraged to travel separately from clients 
  • No unnecessary contact

Yes, we welcome all guests.

What is Apex Mountain School doing to minimize the spread of COVID-19?

Apex Mountain School is taking reasonable precautions to reduce the spread of COVID-19. These measures include current social distancing guidelines, masks worn indoors by both staff and clients when indicated, sanitation as appropriate and screening for exposure and/or symptoms. For a full list of what we are doing to mitigate the risks of COVID-19 please visit our guide and client safety section.

What is the largest group size allowed on trips?

Apex Mountain School is currently running private guided outings of 50 people or less (including guides). This number is subject to change as we update our policies in conjunction with the COVID-19 state and federal regulations.

What if only essential businesses are allowed to operate?

During stay-at-home orders, Apex Mountain School defers to federal, state and local authorities to define which businesses are essential.

Is Apex running open enrollment courses?

Apex Mountain School is currently offering open enrollment and private guided trips.

Are you running multipitch climbing trips?

Apex is currently offering all private outings and courses, including multipitch climbing trips.

When will your operations be back to normal?

Apex Mountain School is running operations as close normal as possible while following all local, state and federal Coronavirus guidelines. We are currently offering the majority of our year-round products offered with specific adjustments to maximize social distancing and indoor time. Apex will update the public of all changes in operating procedures in relation to COVID-19 via our webpage, client email, and social media.

What if face masks are needed?

When appropriate, Apex ensures that all staff are outfitted with a face mask. Please be sure to provide your own personal face mask or covering as needed.
