Turner Lisle
Dr. Lisle is a General & Trauma Surgeon whose practice focuses on the operative and non-operative treatment of abdominal, chest, neck and pelvic pathology both electively and as part of traumatic injuries. Additionally, he is a specialist who focuses on the operative treatment of hernia and abdominal wall pathology as well as the treatment of injured patients in alpine environments. He joined Apex, as Medical Director in 2018.
Dr. Lisle is a Colorado native. He was born & raised in Grand Junction, Colorado and received his undergraduate degree from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. He received his medical degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Lisle went on to complete his general surgery residency and research fellowship in Charlottesville, Virginia at the prestigious University of Virginia Surgery Program. Following his 7 year training program, he joined a thriving surgical practice in Charlottesville where he has spent the last 8 years. His daughter Olivia, and her passion for snowboarding, led to a relocation to Vail, Colorado so that she could pursue full time participation at the Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy. He currently is on staff at Vail Health as a General & Trauma Surgeon.
Dr. Lisle has conducted research in surgery of the abdomen, pelvis and chest and has publish articles in peer reviewed medical journals. He has written several book chapters and has presented his research at national and international meetings. Dr. Lisle is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Stop the Bleed & Advanced Trauma Life Support. He is AIARE Level 1 certified.
In addition to his surgical pursuits, Dr. Lisle enjoys downhill and cross-country mountain biking, golfing, fly fishing, resort and backcountry skiing, and is never far from a good mountaineering adventure.
