Aleksandr Gukov

Alex Gukov is an internationally experienced mountaineer and mountain guide with over 26 years of climbing and guiding experience across high-altitude and technical terrain worldwide.

Alex’s mountaineering background is shaped by extensive training and professional development with leading guiding organizations, including the Russian Mountain Guide Association, Kyrgyz Mountain Guide Association, American Mountain Guides Association, and the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides.

His career spans alpine climbing, expedition mountaineering, technical ice and mixed routes, and instructional guiding.He holds multiple professional certifications, including:

Alex has completed numerous challenging ascents worldwide, including early ascents of peaks between 6,000 and 7,150 meters (20,000–23,500 ft). His climbing achievements have been recognized with prestigious international awards, including the Piolets d’Or (2015) and the Golden Ice Axe of Russia, as well as multiple victories in Russian national mountaineering championships.
