Danielle Taylor
Growing up on the slopes of Vail, Danielle Taylor (DT) found her way into the mountain world early and has since built a career spanning high-level athletics, guiding, and education. She spent nearly a decade alpine ski racing on the FIS circuit, including competing at the collegiate level for Colby College, before transitioning into technical instruction and mentorship in the backcountry.
DT is an AIARE instructor and AIARE PGN Mentor, with a background in guiding for organizations focused on expanding access and inclusivity in mountain spaces. She is currently developing women’s programming at Apex Mountain School and is an AMGA apprentice guide, with plans to complete her AMGA Ski Guide Course next winter.
In addition to skiing, DT is an accomplished climber, with experience competing on both the collegiate and NorAm circuits. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Wyoming, where she studies neurobiology and competes for the UW Nordic Ski Team. Her academic work bridges neuroscience and movement, and she is increasingly involved in snow science research, bringing a scientific perspective to her work in the mountains.
