Absolutely! Our beginner ice climbing course is designed for those with little to no climbing experience. Our professional guides will teach you the fundamentals step by step, focusing on technique, safety, and having fun. We’ll start on easy, low-angle ice and gradually increase the difficulty as you build confidence.
What can I expect during a beginner ice climbing session?
You can expect a comprehensive introduction to the basics of ice climbing. We’ll begin with a warm-up on easier terrain and progress to appropriately steeper ice as you get comfortable. The session will cover skills like proper ice tool use, basic crampon techniques, voice commands, and belaying. By the end of the day, you’ll feel empowered and excited about your progress.
Do I need to be very fit to try beginner ice climbing?
Ice climbing is a full-body workout, but our beginner course is tailored to accommodate all fitness levels. We’ll pace the outing according to your abilities, focusing on technique rather than strength. If you can comfortably enjoy a day of light hiking, you’ll be ready for this adventure.
Can kids participate in the beginner ice climbing course?
Yes, we welcome climbers of all ages from 12 years old and up! This beginner ice climbing course is a great introduction to the basics of ice climbing. After an orientation, we’ll warm up with some easier climbing on low-angle ice. The idea is to develop fundamental skills before moving up to steeper ice, and even intermediate ice climbing routes if it suits you.

Preparation
- Dress in warm, layered clothing – moisture-wicking base, insulated mid-layer, and waterproof outer shell
- Wear insulated gloves or mittens(waterproof and flexible)

- Pack snacks, water, and a thermos with a warm drink
