Zach Keskinen

Zach Keskinen was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. He graduated from Colorado College with a double major in Chemistry and Geology.

Zach has been climbing since the age of 6, and was raised ice climbing in Alaska. He has 5 Grade V first ascents in the Waddinton and Wrangell ranges, has climbed A4 routes on El Cap and in the Fisher Towers, and has climbed WI6 Grade IV routes in Canada.

During the summers, he tries to spend as much time out in Alaska as possible, guiding in the Wrangell Mountains and exploring the glaciers and mountains of that area, and spends his winters guiding ice climbing and mountaineering trips and teaching avalanche education courses with Apex Mountain School in Vail, Colorado.

Zach’s favorite sport is Alpine Climbing and he has a 3 year old beagle mix named Lucy. He has enjoyed volunteering at Learn To Be – Volunteer tutoring at risk youth.  Zach’s favorite food is Chitna salmon and wild rice.
